The Concept
Komorebi is a contemporary matcha brand inspired by the Japanese word komorebi, meaning sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees. Rooted in nature, ritual and the joy found in small everyday moments, the brand is designed to transport you to a mindful moment of solitude, sitting in the soft green grass and slowly sipping your morning matcha.
The packaging brings the meaning of Komorebi to life through light, colour and contrast. Dappled shadows and sunlight filter across deep, natural greens, capturing the feeling of sitting beneath the trees and making light itself part of the brand identity.
Cropped compositions, scattered matcha, half-finished drinks and a soft film-like grain make each image feel spontaneous and lived in, like a small moment from someone’s morning captured as it happened. Rich matcha greens dominate the imagery, while flashes of soft pink bring warmth and playfulness into the world.
